Moth-eaten appearance of bone

Moth-eaten appearance of bone is characterised by multiple, scattered lytic lesions of varying sizes with no major central lesion, ill-defined/demarcated lesion margin with large zone of transition.

I. Neoplastic
1. Metastasis/Multiple myeloma
2. Neuroblastoma in a child.
3. Leukemias/Lymphomas
4. Ewing’s Sarcoma
5. Osteosarcoma/Chondrosarcoma
6. Fibrosarcoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma
II. Infective
1. Osteomyelitis
